Last night I had a friend visiting from Connecticut and so we decided that we’d go out to dinner. I know that she loves sushi and so I thought we’d go to Sakes just down from Market Square in Portsmouth.
They’ve expanded their menu! YUM! So many more kinds of sushi :} Last night my wife and I shared some Inari (sweet tofu pouches), kappa (cucumber), and spicy crispy chicken maki :} I loved the first two and I really liked the last one as well but the slices were HUGE! We;re talking slices of sushi as large around as digestive biscuits! Very Very challenging to each, impossible to get in one bite, but so so tasty. They put an entire tempura chicken finger in the center of it! *laughs* So it was massive and delicious. We also had vegetable tempura and teppan yaki vegetables.
And then fried ice cream for dessert. I feel very poor (because we ordered a ton of things), but very filled with delicious sushi! If you’re looking for good sushi in downtown Portsmouth check out Sakes, yummy, six thumbs up from three visitors last night :)
One problem with having yummy sushi is that it leaves me craving MORE! XD
