Book Review: Deathwatch
White, Robb. Deathwatch. New York, Bantam Doubledall Dell Books for Young Readers, 1972.
Hmn. So not my kind of book. But I can see how other people might like it. A tense struggle between life and death. A psycho maniac versus a good kid. I found the action kind of confusing and hard to follow because I guess I’m a little unfamiliar with desert geography. And the villain was way too outrageous for me to believe. So was the ending where everyone who knows and trusts Ben is so fast to believe that he’s a crazy killer. They choose to trust the outsider city boy over their local good kid. Right.
I prefer a book like Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
