Another wonderful Stitch n’ Bitch night! I finished up the first half of my squares for my afghan. Now I need to learn to do the second half. Easier said than done it turns out. I can do the center, but I’m a little.. lost on the second round. I’ll work on it. Or else bring it to more experienced crocheters than I :)
I think… perhaps if I can just write out the instructions without the codas that pattern writers are so fond of (repeat things between * and * they say) I might be able to parse it a bit better and actually come out with squares.
Tanya brought yummy veggies and dip for everyone!
Since I was having trouble with my second set of squares I decided that I’d set them aside and work on a little project. Nothing I had in progress was appealing and so I dug around on Ravelry until I found this cute little heart pattern. I whipped it up in no time and gave it to Katie so she could take it to work with her. I think she liked it :)
As you can see from previous blog entries, I’m also tearing through YA books hand over first. I’m loving the reading assigned for this YA class. You’ll see a ton more book reviews this semester. Fair warning ;). You can also see a compiled list on the YA Book Lit page *points at the top of the page* Yep. Up there.
Now it’s late, I’m all stitched out and it is time to be sleeping. Katie drew an AWESOME picture of Holmes and Watson (she’s been on a HUGE Sherlock Holmes kick lately ((not a bad thing)) ) and she’s been making beautiful art!
